The Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II is a wide-angle Tilt-Shift lens for Canon EOS EF-mount cameras. Unlike most lenses the 24mm TS-E has mechanisms that allows a user to reposition the optics off center for expert framing while also avoiding converging lines or to angle the plane of focus for precise control of depth of field. It is an extremely useful (if not indispensable) lens for of architecture, landscape, and product photography.
The TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II is a member of Canon’s L-Series pro line and features outstanding high resolution optics. To minimize aberrations and produce low distortion glare free images the design incorporates four UD glass elements, an Aspherical element, and a special SWC (Sub Wavelength Coating). The lens has 67.2mm of coverage for impressive movements with full frame 35mm format size sensors. The tilt shift rotation on the 24mm f/3.5 lens allows adjustment of the focal plane by an angle of +/-8.5° and enables parallel shift of the optical axis by +/-12mm. Both tilt and shift can be engaged singly and in combination. The tilt-shift rotation mechanism locks at right angle and at parallel and clicks at 45° and the lens mount itself can rotate left or right by 90° with click-stop adjustment each 30°
The original 24mm f/3.5L TS-E model was replaced by the 24mm f/3.5 L II TS-E; it’s superb refinement to what has become a Canon classic. The newer TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II offers enhanced functionality and image quality in the most popular tilt-shift focal length.
